What you will do

• Lead the design and delivery of complex AI-enabled workflows and agent-based solutions.
• Take ownership of technical discovery, solution design, and implementation from start to finish.
• Integrate APIs, services, and data sources to create reliable end-to-end automation.
• Establish strong engineering practices including testing, security, observability, and documentation.
• Monitor performance, reliability, and business impact of production solutions.
• Mentor and support colleagues in developing their automation and AI engineering capabilities.

Requirements

• Must be able to work from the Manchester office 2 days per week.
• Strong scripting experience, ideally in Python, with a track record of building production-grade services.
• Experience using AI-augmented software engineering tools like Claude Code or Codex.
• Proven ability to take technical ownership of projects from discovery to deployment.
• Solid understanding of software engineering practices including version control, CI/CD, and testing.
• Experience interpreting data to build tools that help stakeholders understand business problems.

Nice to have

• Experience building agent-based systems or orchestration frameworks like LangChain.
• Exposure to infrastructure as code and CI/CD practices.
