Senior Software Engineer, Build and Release Management (AI)

Location: Overland Park, Kansas, or Kansas City, Missouri, United States; four days per week in the office under a flex/hybrid work model.

Base salary: $110,500–$143,000 annually, plus potential incentive compensation and long-term equity participation.

What you will do

• Define the vision, architecture, tooling strategy, and roadmap for build and release engineering.
• Architect and own a high-performance CI/CD pipeline supporting weekly releases of Cboe Titanium, a mission-critical exchange platform.
• Apply AI to DevOps workflows, including changelog generation, incident summarization, deployment automation, and infrastructure-as-code generation.
• Oversee build, test, and release environments with emphasis on reliability, observability, and rapid recovery.
• Develop testing tools, dashboards, and status reporting to improve engineering visibility.
• Collaborate across engineering groups to improve testability, deployability, and operational excellence.

Requirements

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.
• At least 1 year of hands-on experience applying AI tools or agentic AI frameworks to real engineering workflows.
• Advanced Linux administration, shell scripting, Python, networking, configuration management, and technical troubleshooting skills.
• Strong experience with Git, CI/CD tooling including Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS.
• 5+ years of experience in software build and release engineering, CI/CD, or DevOps for large-scale or mission-critical systems.
• Working SQL proficiency and experience with build tools, package managers, and databases; a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, LangChain, AutoGen, or equivalent tools.
• Experience with financial markets, order entry, or market data protocols.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, Maven, CMake, uv, npm, Jira, and Confluence.
• Experience transforming a reactive build practice into a proactive one.
