Staff Software Engineer (Apache Flink)

TL;DR

Staff Software Engineer (Apache Flink): Designing and implementing scalable stream processing components for hirify.global's Streaming Analytics suite with an accent on high throughput and low latency. Location: Hybrid (Budapest, Hungary). This role is not eligible for immigration sponsorship or relocation.

What you will do

• Develop new features and enhancements for hirify.global's Streaming Analytics products, including Apache Flink and SQL Stream Builder.
• Design, implement, and test scalable distributed software systems supporting both on-premise and cloud deployments.
• Informally manage technical projects, priorities, and resources, while planning work for other team members.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product management, engineering, UX, and documentation.
• Provide technical support to field teams and customers to facilitate product adoption and troubleshooting.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (6+ years experience), Master's (4-6 years), or PhD (2-4 years).
• Professional experience with Apache Flink, Spark, and/or Kafka.
• Strong Java skills and deep proficiency across the Java ecosystem.
• Proven track record in building scalable, robust distributed software systems.
• Strong understanding of software design and architecture principles, CI/CD solutions, and automated testing.
• Strong written and verbal English and communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies like Kubernetes and Docker.
• Experience with Python and/or Javascript.
