Senior Software Engineer (PHP)

Location: Remote; occasional expenses-paid trips to headquarters for team meetups

Salary: €42,000–€56,000 annual

What you will do

• Design and build scalable backend services using PHP, NodeJS, Python, and other technologies.
• Architect microservices and contribute to the evolution of distributed, serverless, and stateful systems.
• Integrate AI and LLMs to automate complex workflows and reduce manual work for merchants.
• Own system performance, reliability, and production readiness for a platform handling millions of shipments and requests.
• Collaborate with Product and Design from discovery through delivery.
• Write clean, tested code and contribute to technical design and engineering standards.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of backend development experience.
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of system design, clean architecture, and engineering trade-offs.
• Experience with microservices, asynchronous patterns, and distributed systems.
• Fluent English, written and spoken, is required.
• Experience with SaaS products or platforms is highly valued.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with PHP, Laravel, NodeJS, Python, React, TypeScript, AWS, Docker, databases, messaging systems, or the listed testing tools.
• Experience with AI/ML integration, LLMs, or intelligent automation.
