Salary: $105,000 - $125,000 CAD per year

What you will do

• Audit and remediate stateful scaling logic, implementing graceful shutdown protocols and dirty-cache synchronization.
• Drive partially implemented backend systems to completion and integrate backend logic with frontend RPC calls.
• Modernize infrastructure by replacing legacy shell-script deployments with containerized CI/CD pipelines.
• Establish a zero-failure testing culture by building automated integration test suites for IAP and guild systems.
• Act as the primary technical liaison between the Vancouver development team and Tencent’s GCloud/InGame infrastructure teams in China.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional backend engineering, with 3+ years focused on high-concurrency multiplayer game servers.
• High proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript within a microservices environment.
• Deep expertise in stateful backend scaling, consistent hashing, and distributed caching strategies.
• Strong experience with NoSQL databases in high-throughput read/write scenarios.
• Native-level Mandarin fluency for effective communication with Tencent infrastructure teams.
• Professional-level English for meetings, documentation, and code reviews.

Nice to have

• Experience with Jenkins for deployment pipeline management.
• Hands-on experience with Tencent InGame PaaS and TcaplusDB.
• Familiarity with Tencent SDKs including Midas, WeGame, and ACE.
