Salary: $104,400–$135,700 CAD

What you will do

• Develop, test, and maintain C-based firmware for battery-powered IoT asset trackers.
• Own the firmware development lifecycle from architectural input to commercial deployment.
• Perform unit, integration, and system-level testing in real and simulated environments.
• Collaborate with hardware, gateway, and test automation teams to ensure system reliability.
• Debug firmware issues and identify opportunities for code and performance improvements.
• Mentor junior engineers and interns while contributing to technical documentation.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on embedded firmware development experience.
• Proficiency in C and strong familiarity with RTOS environments (Zephyr preferred, FreeRTOS valued).
• Ability to read schematics and understand microcontroller design and firmware build chains.
• Experience with CI/CD methods and resource-constrained embedded systems.
• Must be eligible to work in Canada.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a practical, hands-on builder's mindset.

• Experience with low-power firmware design.
