TL;DR

Junior Cyber Security Analyst (Cybersecurity): Providing support for system security assessments of cloud-based, NIST-regulated systems with an accent on documentation, compliance, and remediation. Focus on coordinating security scanning, release management, and supporting continuous diagnostic and monitoring programs for U.S. Federal Government clients.

Location: Must be approved to work in the United States. Role is based in Northern, VA with 100% remote options available.

What you will do

  • Support system security assessments for cloud-based, NIST-regulated environments.
  • Develop and maintain formal security documentation and artifacts to demonstrate compliance.
  • Coordinate security scanning, testing, and reporting within the system release and change management process.
  • Remediate and track identified security deficiencies.
  • Collaborate with ISSOs, System Owners, and cybersecurity teams on release-related activities.
  • Support continuous diagnostic and monitoring programs.

Requirements

  • Must be approved to work in the United States.
  • BA or BS degree, or at least 4 years of experience in a related field.
  • Minimum 1+ years of experience supporting or conducting federal system security assessments.
  • Minimum 1+ years of experience developing formal security documentation and remediating security findings.
  • Thorough knowledge of NIST SP 800-series security guidelines.
  • Active clearance or ability and willingness to submit for a clearance may be required.
