Data Protection Paralegal

TL;DR

Data Protection Paralegal (GDPR/UK & EU): Support Legal and Infosec teams in implementing and evolving hirify.global’s data privacy compliance programme with an accent on handling data subject rights requests, maintaining ROPA and compliance documentation, and running DPIAs and Legitimate Interests Assessments. Focus on privacy incident support, privacy policy/process updates, and advising stakeholders to embed privacy accountability across the business.

What you will do

• Handle and respond to data subject rights requests (e.g., SARs, deletion/rectification) within statutory timeframes.
• Compile and maintain the Record of Processing Activities (ROPA) and other accountability/compliance documentation.
• Complete Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and Legitimate Interests Assessments, coordinating with stakeholders for required processing details.
• Provide guidance on data privacy queries and help develop, update, and embed privacy policies, guidelines, and processes.
• Support investigations and record-keeping for personal data incidents; assist with internal privacy training and communications.
• Support information security programme activities (including certifications such as ISO27001) and assist Legal/Infosec with ad-hoc tasks and projects.

Requirements

• Knowledge of data protection principles and privacy frameworks (e.g., UK and EU GDPR).
• Experience assisting with an organization’s data privacy compliance programme or initiatives.
• Experience handling data subject rights requests (access, deletion, rectification).
• Ability to partner with stakeholders across all levels to engage, influence, and advise.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and organizational/prioritization ability.
• Proactive, energetic approach with initiative on tasks and projects.

Nice to have

• Relevant experience in a tech or digital business.
