Backend Engineer

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, transform, and load data from multiple sources.
• Write clean, efficient Python code optimized for performance and memory efficiency for high-volume datasets.
• Own database schema design (SQL and NoSQL) and optimize query performance for fast, accurate data access.
• Implement unit tests, integration tests, and data quality checks to protect pipeline integrity before production.
• Deploy and iterate on pipelines using CI/CD and containerization (Docker), and participate in code reviews.

Requirements

• Professional proficiency in English and Spanish to collaborate in a bilingual environment.
• Strong Python engineering skills with a focus on performance, memory efficiency, and maintainable production-grade code.
• Experience building and operating data pipelines (ETL/ELT patterns, orchestration, large-scale ingestion).
• Working knowledge of both SQL and NoSQL databases, including schema design and query optimization.
• Ability to work autonomously: take a high-level requirement, define scope, and drive delivery to production.
• Comfort navigating unfamiliar codebases quickly and contributing early.
