TL;DR

Engineer III, Facilities (Biotech): Support of GMP and non-GMP utility systems at a biologics manufacturing site with an accent on equipment lifecycle management, commissioning, and validation. Focus on executing continuous improvement projects and ensuring regulatory compliance of facility utility systems.

Location: 100% onsite in Research Triangle Park, NC

Salary: $77,000–$100,000

What you will do

  • Support utility systems through performance monitoring, failure investigation, and operational enhancements.
  • Manage and execute small OpEx projects and provide support for larger capital projects.
  • Execute startup, commissioning, and validation for new and modified facility systems.
  • Maintain and update engineering documentation, including drawings, URSs, specifications, and change controls.
  • Support GMP compliance through validation document development and regulatory audit support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • 2+ years of progressive engineering experience.
  • Experience with engineering documentation requirements (URS/FRS, validation protocols, change management).
  • Ability to work 100% on site and participate in an on-call rotation.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.

Nice to have

  • Experience with GMP facility documentation requirements, such as Change Control and Validation.
  • Engineering experience supporting clean utilities (air, gases, water), boilers, chillers, and chilled water systems.
  • Experience writing deviations and conducting investigations.
