What you will do

• Own the design, build, and operation of backend systems for global ticketing, including the LA28 Games.
• Design distributed systems capable of handling 10x-100x traffic spikes during high-demand on-sale events.
• Drive architectural decisions balancing scalability, latency, cost, and reliability.
• Develop and optimize API-driven services for internal systems and external partners.
• Implement strategies to mitigate fraud, abuse, and adversarial bot traffic.
• Lead design and code reviews to influence engineering standards and long-term architecture.

Requirements

• Strong professional experience with C# and .NET / .NET Core (or Java background with willingness to transition).
• Proven track record of building and operating distributed systems at scale in production.
• Deep understanding of concurrency, fault tolerance, and system design trade-offs.
• Experience scaling API-driven services within cloud environments, preferably AWS.
• Proficiency with relational databases and data modeling (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL).
• 4+ years of professional software development experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with event-driven architectures or streaming systems like Kafka.
• Knowledge of NoSQL systems such as DynamoDB or Elasticsearch.
• Familiarity with Docker, Terraform, and infrastructure-as-code.
• Background in ticketing, e-commerce, or high-volume transactional domains.
