Test Engineer

TL;DR

Test Engineer: Validating the quality, functionality, and performance of software applications within the Veterans Affairs ecosystem with an accent on manual and automated testing. Focus on developing test frameworks for UI and API services, ensuring Section 508 compliance, and supporting Agile delivery cycles.

Location: 100% U.S. based remote position. Must be a U.S. Citizen. Candidates from CA, CO, IL, MN, NJ, NY, OR, or WA will not be considered.

Salary: $95,000 - $102,000

What you will do

• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and automated scripts for eCMS enhancements.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, and performance testing.
• Design and maintain automated test frameworks for UI, API, and back-end services.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, developers, and DevSecOps teams in an Agile environment.
• Ensure compliance with VA security standards and Section 508 accessibility requirements.
• Document defects, track resolution, and generate quality metrics for releases.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship is strictly required.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust (MBI) security clearance.
• Must reside in the U.S. (excluding CA, CO, IL, MN, NJ, NY, OR, WA).
• Proficiency with test automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.
• Experience with API testing and Agile methodologies.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipeline integration.
• Experience with performance and load testing.
• Knowledge of Section 508 accessibility standards.
• QA certifications such as ISTQB or CAST.
