What you will do

• Contact members via telephone, mail, and electronic communications to recover written-off loans and accounts.
• Perform skip tracing efforts to locate members and assets.
• Manage and negotiate viable payment plans and process DSA agreements, disputes, and cease and desist requests.
• Maintain detailed written records of account statuses, third-party actions, repossessions, and bankruptcies.
• Collaborate with collection agencies and attorneys to review files and approve necessary legal actions.
• Prepare regular reports on collection activities and file estate claims where applicable.

Requirements

• Must be based in the USA.
• 1+ years of prior experience in collections, legal collections, repossession, or post charge-off recovery.
• Knowledge and understanding of CFPB, FDCPA, and other debt collection regulations.
• Ability to identify and escalate legal concerns or reputational risks within the collection process.
• Understanding of money judgments, estate and probate filings, and debt consolidation processes.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to remain assertive in difficult situations.
