What you will do

• Own the design, maintenance, and improvement of the MySQL database estate.
• Manage and monitor databases across multiple platforms, including Microsoft SQL Server.
• Contribute to the design and evolution of database architecture.
• Participate in an on-call rotation for database-related incidents.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement preventative measures.
• Collaborate with developers to resolve performance issues and support enhancements.

Requirements

• Must be authorized to work in the United States
• 5+ years of DBA experience with MySQL and MariaDB.
• Experience with database patches, major version upgrades, and high availability technologies like Galera, MHA, or Orchestrator.
• Strong understanding of database design, replication, disaster recovery, and backups.
• Foundational knowledge of Linux, Windows, and TCP/IP networking.
• Ability to participate in an out-of-hours on-call rotation.

Nice to have

• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2019+.
• Experience with cloud-hosted databases like Aurora RDS.
• Familiarity with No-SQL, OLAP, or data streaming.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform, Puppet, or Ansible.
