What you will do
- Plan, execute, and document risk-based internal audits for German legal entities and licensed payment institutions.
- Assess the design and effectiveness of internal controls and ensure audits follow IIA Standards, internal methodologies, and regulatory requirements.
- Evaluate compliance with German regulatory requirements and support regulatory inspections/external audits with accurate findings and documentation.
- Prepare audit reports in German and English, highlighting findings, risks, and actionable remediation steps; follow up to ensure timely issue closure.
- Contribute to annual audit risk assessment and planning for the German entity portfolio.
- Support knowledge transfer to Poland-based audit team members on German regulatory frameworks.
Requirements
- Fluent German (written & spoken) – mandatory
- Professional English required.
- Minimum 4 years of internal audit experience in Banking, Payments, or Financial Services.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Law, or related fields.
- Must be based in Romania or willing to relocate; open to hybrid/remote work.
- Ability to travel occasionally to Germany for onsite audits.
