The AWS Mantle team builds the inference engine for hirify.global Bedrock, providing secure, enterprise-grade access to high-performing foundation models from leading AI companies.

What you will do

• Lead multiple software development teams, including managing other managers, responsible for subsystems like capacity management and inference routing.
• Own the organizational strategy and multi-year technical roadmap for the Mantle inference platform.
• Build, hire, and mentor engineering leaders and senior engineers to foster a culture of innovation and excellence.
• Drive delivery of complex, cross-organizational programs involving distributed systems, ML infrastructure, and security.
• Establish operational excellence mechanisms for monitoring, incident response, and continuous improvement at organizational scale.
• Partner with Principal Engineers and product leaders to align technical architecture with business strategy and product roadmaps.

Requirements

• 10+ years of engineering experience and 5+ years of engineering team management experience.
• 10+ years of experience in planning, designing, and delivering consumer software.
• Proven track record of hiring, developing, and promoting engineering talent.
• Experience delivering results for large, cross-functional initiatives.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership.
• Must be based in or authorized to work in Seattle, WA, USA.

Nice to have

• Master's or PhD in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field.
• Experience deploying ML systems for large-scale optimizations or operating highly available distributed systems.
• Deep familiarity with distributed systems design, GPU/accelerator infrastructure, or high-performance computing (HPC).
• Experience as a manager of managers, leading multiple engineering teams simultaneously.
