What you will do

• Design and operate production-grade data pipelines using API-based ingestion, CDC, and event-driven patterns.
• Develop and maintain transformation layers in dbt, including tests, documentation, and reusable models.
• Implement testing, monitoring, and observability to ensure data quality and pipeline reliability.
• Improve the scalability, performance, and cost-efficiency of data systems on AWS and Databricks.
• Partner with product and engineering teams to define metrics and build intuitive operational dashboards.
• Contribute to engineering standards, code reviews, and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in data or backend engineering with significant platform responsibility.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python for data ingestion and transformation.
• Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms, specifically AWS and Databricks.
• Experience building SQL-based transformation workflows, preferably with dbt.
• Strong computer science fundamentals and experience reasoning about distributed systems.

Nice to have

• Experience working with healthcare, care delivery, or regulated data environments.
• Familiarity with HIPAA requirements and sensitive health data.
• Experience building streaming data pipelines or event-driven architectures.
• Early-stage startup experience.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools.
