Salary: $145,500 - $235,400

What you will do

• Build and operate backend services powering the Flag Delivery systems, supporting streaming and polling models.
• Debug complex production issues and improve service reliability, latency, and observability.
• Work with distributed system patterns including caching layers, network services, and failure handling.
• Collaborate with SDK, Platform, SRE, and Security teams to deliver platform-wide improvements.
• Integrate AI into the engineering workflow with sound technical judgment for verification and output analysis.
• Participate in the on-call rotation and take full ownership of the systems developed.

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend software engineering experience with a focus on production systems.
• Strong proficiency in Go, Java, or Rust (primary stack is Go).
• Must be based in the United States.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems fundamentals (concurrency, caching, reliability).
• Proven experience debugging production issues using observability tools.
• Existing fluency in using AI as part of a professional engineering workflow.
