TL;DR
Senior Backend Engineer (Go): Building and optimizing core Grafana backend services and orchestration infrastructure with an accent on API design, database performance, and scalability. Location: Must be based in the UK, Germany, Spain, Ireland, or Sweden
Salary: £91,000 - £114,000 (UK base)

What you will do
- Deliver new functionality for the Grafana API and CLI tools.
- Contribute to and review design documents for upcoming features.
- Participate in on-call rotations and take ownership of service operations.
- Mentor team members and collaborate across squads in the Grafana division.
- Influence the product roadmap and contribute to open-source projects.
- Utilize AI-assisted development tools to iterate quickly on prototyping and testing.
Requirements
- Must be located in the UK, Germany, Spain, Ireland, or Sweden.
- Solid backend development experience, ideally with Go.
- Strong understanding of relational databases like MySQL, SQLite, and Postgres.
- Experience delivering projects from requirements gathering to production shipping.
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, and performant software.
- Experience mentoring junior engineers in a collaborative environment.
Nice to have
- Experience with open-source software or commercial open-source companies.
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, or DevOps practices.
- Previous experience as a user of Grafana and Prometheus.
- Exposure to microservices architecture and distributed systems.
