Technical Direction Intern (Animation)

TL;DR

Technical Direction Intern (Animation): Assisting in the development and support of production tools for feature animation with an accent on pipeline automation and software engineering. Focus on crafting new tools, testing and debugging existing systems, and providing technical support to production artists in a collaborative studio environment.

Location: Must be based in or able to work in Glendale, California. This is a hybrid role requiring 3-4 days per week in the office.

Salary: $18.47 per hour.

What you will do

• Observe and assist Technical Directors with writing tools for the production pipeline.
• Develop new software tools and applications to support large-scale feature animation.
• Test, debug, and extend existing production tools and systems.
• Provide technical support to production artists.
• Handle administrative and data-wrangling tasks as required.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
• Must be willing to work in Glendale, California.
• Currently pursuing an Associate, Bachelor, or Graduate degree, or a recent graduate (within six months).
• Programming experience and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work 24 hours per week.

Nice to have

• Major in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Visualization, or Digital Media.
• Experience with Python, C++, or JavaScript.
• Knowledge of computer graphics and digital content creation tools like Maya, Houdini, or Nuke.
• Familiarity with Git and project-tracking software like Jira.
• Understanding of UI/UX design concepts.
