TL;DR
Technical Writer (Cybersecurity Focus): Research, create, and maintain cybersecurity logging/IAM documentation artifacts across the security asset lifecycle with an accent on identity and access management (RBAC, MFA, PAM) and logging/monitoring workflows in IT and OT environments. Focus on ensuring editorial standards and versioning quality, supporting compliance/audit requirements (e.g., NERC CIP, SOX, ISO), and leveraging AI tools to accelerate and automate documentation creation and updates.

What you will do
- Research, prepare, edit, and maintain technical documentation updates across the full lifecycle.
- Create cybersecurity documentation artifacts such as runbooks, playbooks, SOPs, onboarding guides, and system documentation.
- Develop IAM and logging/monitoring documentation for identity and access management and SIEM/SOAR/EDR/XDR-style tools, including OT monitoring and incident response workflows.
- Ensure documentation follows consistent editorial standards, formatting, and versioning; perform editorial QA.
- Support compliance and audit needs by aligning documentation with internal/external audit and regulatory requirements (e.g., NERC CIP, SOX, ISO).
- Collaborate with SMEs, engineers, analysts, and architects; coordinate publishing, access control, and compliance for content delivery.
Requirements
- 7–10 years of experience in technical documentation with a focus on cybersecurity, IT, Industrial Control Systems, or OT environments.
- Proven ability to research, edit, and maintain complex technical documents across the full lifecycle.
- Hands-on familiarity with IAM systems and logging/monitoring platforms (SIEM, EDR/XDR).
- Strong understanding of documentation standards, formatting, and publishing practices.
- Experience working in regulated or compliance-driven environments (e.g., utilities, energy, finance).
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and SMEs.
Nice to have
- CAP (Certified Authorization Professional) or similar GRC certification.
- Technical writing certification (e.g., Society for Technical Communication).
- Experience with documentation tools/platforms such as SharePoint or Confluence.
- Exposure to tools such as Splunk, CrowdStrike, Dragos, and Industrial Defender.
- AI and automation experience for assisted writing, summarization, editing, and content optimization.
