What you will do

• Manage daily operations of a global database platform, from initial setup to tool development.
• Plan and execute database administration tasks to ensure maximum system stability and availability.
• Install and upgrade databases and high-availability solutions.
• Develop automation, monitoring, and internal tooling to streamline workflows.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to support production incidents.
• Work with high-volume databases in a complex, large-scale environment.

Requirements

• Expert-level knowledge in PostgreSQL and MariaDB administration.
• Strong understanding of Linux/Unix operating systems and networking.
• Proficiency in scripting with Python, Bash, or similar for automation.
• Proactive problem-solving skills with a focus on root cause analysis.
• Must be based in or able to work onsite in Sofia, Bulgaria.
• Strong learning capabilities and a collaborative team-player mindset.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with AWS database services.
• Experience running databases on Kubernetes using MariaDB or PostgreSQL operators.
