What you will do

• Drive the design and implementation of the hirify.global Gold payment system.
• Partner with Product and partner teams to translate business and technical requirements.
• Review technical designs and implementations across the team.
• Lead the team in tackling challenging technical issues and resolving critical incidents.
• Set engineering standards by building high-quality code with unit tests and automation tests.
• Lead migration of the existing system to a new tech stack.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in E-Commerce Java core system design and implementation.
• Strong experience with payment systems: online payment processing, transaction lifecycle management, and reconciliation.
• Experience building highly scalable, high-availability online systems.
• Hands-on experience integrating with payment service providers (PSPs) such as Adyen, Stripe, Braintree, PayPal, or regional PSPs (Alipay, WeChat Pay).
• Strong understanding of payment gateway integration, acquiring bank flows, and settlement processes.
• Familiarity with payment compliance standards including PCI DSS, 3DS/3DS2, and tokenization.

Nice to have

• Experience with .Net systems.
• Experience with databases, especially Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL.
• Experience with major public cloud services, especially AWS.
• Experience with fraud detection mechanisms and risk management in payment systems.
