Principal Java Engineer (Fintech)

Razer develops gaming hardware, software, and digital services, including the Razer Gold payment platform for games and digital content.

What you will do

• Lead the backend development and modernization of the Razer Gold payment system.
• Design and implement payment system components and review the team’s technical designs and implementations.
• Partner with product managers, engineering teams, and business stakeholders to define business and technical requirements.
• Lead the migration of the existing system to a new technology stack.
• Guide the team through complex technical issues and help prepare for future challenges.
• Build high-quality Java code with unit and automated tests while driving critical issues to resolution.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience designing and implementing Java-based core systems in e-commerce.
• Experience with payment service provider integrations, payment gateways, acquiring bank flows, settlement, transaction lifecycles, and reconciliation.
• Strong knowledge of scalable, highly available online systems and payment compliance standards, including PCI DSS, 3DS/3DS2, and tokenization.
• Experience with database systems, especially Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL.
• Experience with at least one major public cloud provider, especially AWS.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or another technical field.

Nice to have

• Experience with .NET systems.
• Experience with fraud detection and risk management in payment systems.
• Experience with payment providers such as Adyen, Stripe, Braintree, PayPal, Alipay, or WeChat Pay.
