Senior Backend Engineer (Kotlin/Java)

What you will do

• Build and continuously improve backend systems and services for a digital bank.
• Develop RESTful APIs and event-driven microservices using Kotlin or Java.
• Design and operate reliable, scalable, and secure services in a cloud-native architecture.
• Work with event streams, relational databases, containers, and orchestration platforms.
• Implement CI/CD practices, monitor production services, and respond to incidents.
• Write maintainable code with comprehensive unit and integration tests.

Requirements

• Fluency in Kotlin or Java and solid backend development experience.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservice design, and event-driven architecture.
• Strong API design skills, including backward compatibility, and solid CI/CD experience.
• Experience with AWS or similar cloud environments, automated testing, and production operations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or an equivalent qualification.
• Effective communication, collaboration, organisation, and problem-solving skills.

• Familiarity with AI-assisted software development workflows.
