Senior Staff Back-end Engineer (Ecommerce)

What you will do

• Provide technical leadership across Eats Engineering and drive scalable, fault-tolerant platform development.
• Develop technical strategy, architecture plans, and roadmaps with senior leadership and product owners.
• Lead mission-critical initiatives and solve complex business and system problems with engineers and stakeholders.
• Design highly available services and simplify the system landscape through strong architecture and engineering practices.
• Define, measure, and report system and operational metrics while proactively addressing critical issues.
• Recruit, mentor, and coach senior engineers and help build a high-performance organization.

Requirements

• 10+ years of industry experience building B2C-scale products, preferably with Java and AWS.
• 7+ years in technical leadership, including ownership of technical vision and execution at an organization or business-unit level.
• Hands-on experience designing, building, and delivering scalable and highly available products and services.
• Strong expertise in Java, system and data architecture, distributed computing and storage, messaging services, caches, and performance tuning.
• Experience collaborating across globally distributed teams and strong communication, ownership, and execution skills.
• Bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Nice to have

• Ecommerce or food delivery product development experience.
• Experience with ML platforms and MLOps.
• Prompt engineering or agent framework experience.
