Location: Must be based in or able to commute to New York City, NY (Hybrid: 2 days/week in-office)

Salary: $129,500 – $185,000 (Base salary range in NY, CA, WA)

What you will do

• Design and implement a comprehensive operational risk framework tailored to cryptocurrency exchange operations.
• Conduct specialized risk assessments covering custody, smart contracts, liquidity, and counterparty risks.
• Own the operational risk event reporting process, including root cause analysis and remediation tracking.
• Partner with quantitative and data teams to ensure robust model risk governance and validation.
• Prepare risk reporting packages for senior leadership and the Board Risk Committee.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to champion a strong risk culture and respond to regulatory inquiries.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required; professional certifications like CRCM, FRM, CFA, or CERA preferred.
• 6+ years of progressive experience in trading, crypto, banking, or fintech.
• Proven ability to design and implement operational risk frameworks from the ground up.
• Strong working knowledge of model risk management principles and SR 11-7 guidance.
• Hands-on experience with operational risk event reporting and escalation protocols.
• Demonstrated ability to scale artificial intelligence models for risk management programs.

Nice to have

• Experience with GRC platforms such as Archer, AuditBoard, or MetricStream.
• Strong understanding of blockchain technology, DeFi, and tokenomics.
• Familiarity with digital asset regulatory frameworks (SEC, CFTC, FinCEN, MAS).
