TL;DR

Research Engineer / Research Scientist (Personal AGI): Training and improving pre-trained models for ChatGPT and other products with an accent on reinforcement learning and product-driven research. Focus on designing research agendas, building robust evaluations, and implementing code across the research stack to improve model capability.

Location: Hybrid in San Francisco, CA (3 days in office per week). Relocation assistance available.

Salary: $295K – $555K + Equity

What you will do

• Own and pursue a research agenda to improve model capability and performance.
• Collaborate with research and product teams to enable customer optimization of their own models.
• Build robust evaluations for tracking and verifying modeling improvements.
• Design, implement, test, and debug code across the research stack.

Requirements

• Strong ML engineering skills and research experience, particularly with highly capable models.
• Deep understanding of machine learning and its practical applications.
• Working knowledge of relevant models and the ability to build evaluations for capability improvement.
• Proficiency in diving into large ML codebases for debugging.
• Must be based in or be able to relocate to San Francisco, CA.
