What you will do

• Develop, test, and optimize automated laboratory assays and workflows to increase throughput and quality.
• Configure, program, and troubleshoot automated liquid handling instrument software (e.g., Tecan, Beckman, Hamilton).
• Collaborate with IT and lab teams to support system integrations, data management, and LIMS interfaces.
• Perform verification and validation activities in accordance with regulatory and quality requirements.
• Generate and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and validation documentation.
• Provide technical support, calibration, and repair for laboratory automation equipment.

Requirements

• BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Biotechnology, or related field with 2+ years of experience (or MS with 1+ year).
• Experience working in a biotechnology or clinical laboratory environment.
• Proven experience developing methods for automated liquid handling systems.
• Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, and Visual Basic.
• Ability to independently troubleshoot liquid handling equipment and general lab instrumentation.
• Must be based in or able to work on-site in Houston, TX, USA

Nice to have

• Experience integrating automation platforms with LIMS or databases.
• Experience supporting production lab operations in a regulated environment.
• Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
• Experience with system commissioning and deployment of automation projects.
