What you will do

• Lead and mentor a small DevOps engineering team supporting Unite Services and Integrations.
• Own the operational health, reliability, and security of multi-region Kubernetes clusters and shared infrastructure.
• Design and maintain GitHub-based CI/CD pipelines and GitOps practices to streamline deployments.
• Drive security initiatives including vulnerability remediation, secrets management, and ransomware preparedness.
• Manage observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK) and lead incident response for platform outages.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Security teams to define roadmaps, SLIs/SLOs, and operational runbooks.

Requirements

• Must be based in Portugal with the ability to visit the office in Coimbra.
• Proven experience leading DevOps or platform engineering teams for complex distributed systems.
• Deep expertise in Kubernetes operations, including cluster upgrades, scaling, and security.
• Strong proficiency in IaC tools like Terraform and scripting languages such as Python or Go.
• Solid experience with CI/CD design, specifically using GitHub Actions.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to manage incident response under pressure.

Nice to have

• Experience implementing Internal Developer Platforms (IDP).
• Background in disaster recovery planning and business continuity for critical systems.
• Familiarity with API Gateways and stream processing platforms like Apache Flink.
• Experience operating systems at multi-region or multi-tenant scale.
