Senior Security Architect (Cybersecurity)

TL;DR

Senior Security Architect (Cybersecurity): Developing and implementing security architecture patterns and principles to enable secure, resilient system building without impeding delivery speed with an accent on reducing cognitive load for engineering teams. Focus on defining security non-functional requirements, implementing zero-trust architecture, and embedding security thinking into the software development lifecycle.

Location: Hybrid in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Note: This role does not come with relocation assistance.

What you will do

• Lead the security architecture domain within Tech Standards, translating guiding principles into practical guidance and reusable patterns.
• Collaborate with the Security organization to shape clear and usable security non-functional requirements.
• Convert security policies and audit findings into reference patterns that reduce the need for manual gates.
• Design and drive the adoption of pragmatic zero-trust architecture across the company's technology estate.
• Partner with Business Unit architects, SREs, and engineering leaders to align security with real delivery needs.
• Coach and mentor the architectural community to make security architecture easier to understand and apply.

Requirements

• Significant experience in technology with a strong track record in enterprise-scale security architecture.
• Deep expertise in IAM, data protection, network security, application security, infrastructure, and cloud security.
• Proven ability to design security architecture for large, distributed engineering organizations.
• Strong understanding of zero-trust principles and how to apply them pragmatically.
• Ability to turn security regulations and risk management requirements into scalable engineering practices.
• Must be based in or have the right to work in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Nice to have

• Relevant security certifications such as CISSP-ISSAP, GDSA, CCZT, or CISM.
• Cloud security certifications.
