What you will do

• Own the KION Analytics Platform (KAP): strategic roadmap, budget planning, and overall platform responsibility.
• Define target architecture, design principles, and technology standards for analytics and semantic layers.
• Design and ensure a scalable, secure, and cost-efficient platform using Databricks, Dremio, Power BI, and cloud services (Azure-first).
• Lead analytics use case delivery from requirements and data provisioning through implementation support and operations.
• Ensure stable operations with performance monitoring and adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Drive continuous improvements in development, deployment, and monitoring processes (DevOps/DataOps) and support global KION AI use cases; lead and coach global Data Engineers.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience as a Big Data Solution Architect or similar role, ideally in a large enterprise environment.
• Deep knowledge of Big Data architectures and technologies with strong focus on Microsoft Azure (Azure Data Lake, Databricks, Dremio, Power BI, Azure Data Factory).
• Experience with data warehousing, ETL, and data modeling; knowledge of data governance and security best practices.
• Strong SQL skills and at least one scripting language (e.g., Python or Scala).
• Very good English; German is a plus. Experience with agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and mentoring technical teams.
