TL;DR

Software Engineer (Java): Developing software tools to simplify NXP processor programming for automotive customers with an accent on Java-based toolsets and complex software projects. Focus on building integrated development environments, implementing scripting capabilities, and optimizing embedded system toolchains.

Location: Must be based in Romania (Sibiu or Bucharest). Hybrid work from home policy available.

What you will do

  • Develop and maintain complex software tools to simplify processor programming for customers.
  • Work on tools ranging from C-embedded programming to solutions running on MATLAB/Simulink.
  • Collaborate within a large, globally distributed team of engineers.
  • Manage internal complexity to provide a seamless user experience for NXP tools.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional programming experience in Java.
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting language.
  • Proven track record of working on complex software projects.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required.
  • Must be located in or be able to work from the Romania offices.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of Eclipse plugins development.
  • Embedded C programming experience and general knowledge of embedded systems.
  • Technical leadership experience for various projects.
  • Knowledge of software quality standards and experience with project audits.
