What you will do
- Design and implement complex, scalable system architectures while mentoring team members.
- Lead code reviews and establish best practices to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Optimize database performance and design robust data solutions using PostgreSQL.
- Architect and maintain messaging systems using Kafka to handle high-volume data streams.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues, taking ownership of system reliability.
- Facilitate technical discussions and foster collaborative problem-solving across teams.
Requirements
- Must be based in Ukraine, Bulgaria, Poland, or Romania.
- Extensive production experience with Java and deep understanding of JVM internals.
- Strong system design capabilities and ability to implement complex architectures.
- Advanced knowledge of relational database principles and PostgreSQL performance tuning.
- Solid grasp of messaging concepts and Kafka ecosystem experience.
- English proficiency: Upper-intermediate (B2) required for stakeholder communication.
Nice to have
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with AI-driven engineering tools and workflows.
- Experience with Ebean ORM, Redis, and Test Containers.
