Network Design Professional (RAN Automation)

TL;DR

Network Design Professional (RAN Automation): Designing and implementing automated deployment tasks and self-optimizing network routines for the BT Radio Access Network with an accent on Python coding and data analytics. Focus on building open and closed-loop automations using MR-SON and RPA tools to improve network performance and configuration processes.

Location: Must be based in the UK (Hybrid: 3 days a week from the Birmingham office, 2 days from home).

What you will do

• Write Python code to automate radio network performance improvements using the Nokia Manta Ray SON tool.
• Design open and closed-loop automations using Unison and MR-SON software development kits.
• Implement configuration plans for 2G, 4G, and 5G RAN, including work outside normal office hours.
• Audit network data and configuration processes using the WIM Unison system.
• Support the RAN transformation programme by automating manual processes using BluePrism RPA.
• Ensure all systems comply with GDPR and internal security policies.

Requirements

• Practical experience in Python programming with the ability to develop to an advanced level.
• Excellent data analytical skills with the ability to derive technical and business recommendations.
• Experience in manipulating and interpreting multiple sources of complex data.
• Understanding of IT environments.
• Must be based in the UK and able to work from the Birmingham office 3 days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience with databases and SQL.
• Knowledge of Mobile Radio Network architectures (GERAN/UTRAN/EUTRAN/OSS).
• Background in Mobile Telecommunications.
• Knowledge of virtualization and cloud-hosted data platforms like Google Cloud Platform.
