What you will do

• Serve as the executive lead for the London office, ensuring site cohesion and alignment with global objectives.
• Act as the primary conduit between Waymo's Foundation Model initiatives and Google DeepMind teams.
• Define and execute the technical roadmap for the Sim Realism team, focusing on generative AI and simulation fidelity.
• Recruit, manage, and mentor a high-performing organization of machine learning and software engineers.
• Partner with workplace services to design and implement a long-term site strategy.

Requirements

• PhD or Master's degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Robotics, or equivalent experience.
• Proven track record of managing large engineering organizations in research-driven environments.
• Deep expertise in machine learning, generative foundation models, or complex simulation.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multi-year, cross-functional projects from conception to impact.
• Extensive experience developing senior engineers, staff engineers, and technical leads.
