Salary: $118,500–$216,500 USD (US) / $171,500–$201,000 CAD (Canada)

What you will do

• Design and build high-quality APIs and services for experimentation and recommendation systems.
• Orchestrate AI agents (Claude Code) to generate specs, code, tests, and perform reviews as a primary workflow.
• Codify AI-native engineering playbooks for adoption across the broader engineering organization.
• Collaborate with product and data teams to deliver scalable, reliable engineering solutions.
• Participate in on-call rotations and incident response for high-traffic production systems.
• Mentor team members and contribute to evolving technical standards and AI-native practices.

Requirements

• 6+ years of backend software engineering experience
• Strong proficiency with Java and Spring Boot
• Experience with Apache Kafka or similar distributed streaming platforms
• Hands-on experience prompting, evaluating, and building with LLMs (1+ year)
• Must be based in the US or Canada
• Solid understanding of distributed systems concepts and cloud infrastructure (AWS)

Nice to have

• Experience building experimentation, A/B testing, or feature-flagging systems
• Background in stream processing frameworks like Kafka Streams or Flink
• Experience with observability tooling such as Prometheus, Grafana, or DataDog
• Knowledge of CI/CD patterns and schema evolution strategies
