Senior QA Engineer / Quality Engineering Lead

What you will do

• Audit the current QA landscape and define a company-wide QA strategy and quality operating system across stabilization, automation, and long-term quality engineering maturity.
• Own product QA for ARBI and Athena, validating UI/UX, business logic, edge cases, accessibility, and end-to-end recruiter and career-assistance workflows.
• Build and modernize automated testing (frontend, API, integration, and end-to-end) and improve reliability, speed, and maintainability while integrating tests into CI/CD.
• Validate backend, REST APIs, data workflows, asynchronous processing, integrations, and performance/load/reliability for critical workflows.
• Test AI/LLM and evaluation workflows, including accuracy, explainability, hallucination/bias risk, rubric alignment, guardrails, and audit trails.
• Drive release readiness and quality visibility with structured bug reports, dashboards, defect trends, and clear release status communication.

Requirements

• Experience in Quality Assurance / Quality Engineering / Software Test Engineering or a related product-quality role.
• Strong manual QA skills (exploratory testing, edge-case discovery, cross-browser/responsive validation, clear bug reporting, release sign-off).
• Hands-on automated testing experience with Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, Pytest, Postman/Newman, or similar tools.
• Strong backend engineering fluency, especially with Python, FastAPI, REST APIs, PostgreSQL, Redis, OpenSearch, Celery, Temporal, containers, AWS, and deployment pipelines.
• Experience validating large-scale datasets, data pipelines, integrations, asynchronous workflows, search/indexing behavior, and workflow automation.
• Ability and willingness to relocate to the Northern VA / Washington, DC area, or work closely with the team during Eastern Time business hours if remote.
