TL;DR

Test Automation Engineer (Java/Selenium/Cucumber): Building and maintaining automated test frameworks for a greenfield financial application with an accent on BDD (Cucumber), CI/CD-aligned test strategy, and early defect detection. Focus on solving complex distributed-system testing challenges by automating UI and API tests, validating Kafka event streams and database persistence, and analyzing logs for actionable quality insights.

Location: Hybrid from Gdynia / Gdańsk / Warszawa (2/3 days per week from the office)

Salary: 800-1100 PLN/day on B2B

What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain automated test frameworks based on BDD (Cucumber).
• Define and contribute to test strategies aligned with CI/CD pipelines to deliver quality at speed.
• Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Java and Selenium/WebDriver; create and review Gherkin feature files.
• Perform negative, exploratory, and regression testing, including REST API testing, Kafka event stream testing, and database validation (JPA).
• Collaborate with developers and the Product Owner to ensure shared understanding of requirements and early defect detection.
• Analyze logs (e.g., Splunk) and provide actionable insights to the team.

Requirements

• Strong Java coding skills (preferably Java 21) for test automation.
• Hands-on experience with Cucumber and BDD practices.
• Solid understanding of API testing, Kafka, and database validation.
• Expertise in test strategy, defect analysis, and testing complex distributed systems.
• Experience working in Agile environments with close collaboration with developers.
• Ability to work hybrid from Gdynia / Gdańsk / Warszawa (2/3 days per week in the office).

Nice to have

• Basic Docker skills for containerized execution.
• Familiarity with Sonar for code quality insights.
• Understanding of Liquibase for database change control.
