TL;DR
Senior Software Systems Engineer (Medtech): Designing and developing software for class I, II, and III medical devices with an accent on safety-critical systems and device connectivity. Focus on building the SmartSync framework for cardiac rhythm management, ensuring reliable performance for life-saving therapies.
Location: Must be based in Mounds View, MN. This role is hybrid (on-site 4 days per week).
Salary: $120,800 – $181,200 USD

What you will do
- Design, develop, and test software for medical devices in compliance with IEC62304 standards.
- Provide technical leadership, coaching, and mentoring to junior software engineers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan projects, manage scope, and estimate work.
- Conduct technical reviews of requirements, specifications, designs, and code.
- Develop reusable patterns to increase team velocity and drive process improvements.
- Work with internal and external partners to deliver high-quality products to the market.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline with 4+ years of experience OR Master’s degree with 2+ years of experience.
- Must possess unrestricted U.S. work authorization at the time of hire.
- Deep expertise in SmartSync UI framework architecture and clinical application development.
- Experience with mobile platform architecture, JavaScript, HTML5, and Apple SDKs.
- Proven ability to work within safety-critical systems and troubleshoot complex cross-layer issues.
- Ability to work on-site 4 days per week in Mounds View, MN.
Nice to have
- Experience in software design for medical devices.
- Proficiency in C#, .NET MAUI, or iPadOS.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and Test-Driven Development.
