What you will do
- Review and classify incoming chargebacks to determine the appropriate dispute strategy within scheme deadlines.
- Build and submit comprehensive dispute packages using merchant evidence and clear, rules-based arguments.
- Manage the full dispute lifecycle, including first chargebacks, second presentments, and arbitration.
- Communicate effectively with merchants to gather necessary evidence and provide status updates.
- Identify and challenge one-sided disputes to recover funds and minimize financial exposure.
- Collaborate with Fraud, Risk, and Engineering teams to improve processes and integrate AI-driven dispute solutions.
Requirements
- Experience in chargebacks, disputes, payments operations, or fraud within a financial institution or PSP.
- Working understanding of card scheme reason codes, dispute timeframes, and fraud types.
- Strong analytical judgment to weigh evidence against scheme rules.
- Comfort working with data, dashboards, and basic SQL queries.
- English: C1 proficiency required for clear communication and documentation.
- Strong organizational skills to manage high-volume queues under strict deadlines.
Nice to have
- Direct experience with Visa, Mastercard, or AMEX dispute portals.
- Fluency in additional European languages.
- Exposure to fraud operations or scheme monitoring programs like VAMP or MATCH.
