What you will do
- Own computer vision and agentic AI domains, adapting architectures and fine-tuning strategies for complex, unstructured real-world data.
- Design and execute end-to-end experiments, from framing research questions to evaluating model performance.
- Shape technical direction by identifying high-impact opportunities to improve AI systems.
- Manage pragmatic trade-offs across model accuracy, interpretability, latency, and cost.
- Take projects from prototype to production, working hands-on with MLOps tooling and infrastructure.
- Collaborate with research teammates to raise the bar for experimental rigor.
Requirements
- 7β10 years of hands-on experience in applied AI research with a track record of shipping business-solving models.
- Must be based in Canada.
- Proven ability to lead projects from research to production independently using MLOps practices (CI/CD, containerization, monitoring).
- Deep experience training and fine-tuning models from scratch using PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX.
- Strong proficiency in Python and software engineering skills (Git, testing, modular design).
- Significant experience implementing computer vision and image processing algorithms (object detection, segmentation, geometric transformations).
Nice to have
- Experience with high-accuracy CV systems in autonomous vehicles, medical imaging, or industrial inspection.
- Comfort thriving in an early-stage startup environment.
