Location: Must be based in or able to work from Vancouver, Toronto, or London. This is an office-first hybrid role requiring presence in the office on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

Compensation: CA$140,000 – CA$196,000 + Equity

What you will do

• Design and ship backend systems for agentic workflows, including retrieval pipelines and multi-step architectures.
• Optimize LLM-powered workflows for accuracy, latency, and reliability in production.
• Develop and operate evaluation frameworks to measure relevance and task success at scale.
• Build human-in-the-loop systems to ensure AI agents remain trusted and accurate over time.
• Collaborate with product and data teams to align technical direction with customer outcomes.
• Evaluate and integrate advancements in LLMs and retrieval architectures to keep the platform on the frontier.

Requirements

• Must be located in or able to work from Vancouver, Toronto, or London.
• Proven experience building and operating production-grade backend systems.
• Experience building or evaluating agentic/LLM-powered systems (RAG, multi-step workflows).
• Strong proficiency in Python and backend frameworks.
• Experience with search/retrieval systems (e.g., Elasticsearch, Pinecone, PGVector).
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and handling high-scale data volumes.

Nice to have

• Experience designing multi-agent systems or complex orchestration workflows.
• Contributions to AI/ML open-source projects.
• Strong understanding of ML fundamentals (precision, recall, bias-variance tradeoff).
