What you will do

• Own the agentic engineering strategy, roadmap, and delivery of orchestration layers, memory architectures, and API-execution frameworks.
• Lead and grow an organization of approximately 130 engineers across multiple teams, managing performance and succession planning.
• Build scalable, multi-modal AI agents capable of autonomous reasoning and secure tool execution across complex workflows.
• Establish robust QA, regression processes, and operational KPIs to maintain enterprise standards of reliability.
• Partner with the executive team and division leaders to align the engineering roadmap with wider business strategy.
• Stay ahead of emerging agent frameworks, LLM inference optimization, and safety guardrails.

Requirements

• 12+ years of engineering experience, including 5-8 years of leadership steering organizations of 100+ engineers.
• Proven track record of shipping production systems where AI agents reason, act, and coordinate workflows.
• Deep technical expertise in LLM platforms, inference optimization, retrieval systems, and memory architectures.
• Experience with agent frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, or CrewAI.
• Strong operational excellence in managing multi-million-dollar budgets and setting multi-team OKRs.
• Must be based in San Francisco for this onsite position.
