TL;DR

Senior Test Automation Software Engineer (Python): Develop and support automated test software, validation frameworks, and Special Test Equipment (STE/GSE) for complex integrated hardware and software systems with an accent on RF, comms, electro-optical, and embedded systems. Focus on building reliable automated verification/validation/acceptance procedures, integrating and troubleshooting lab test instruments, and improving test throughput and maintainability.

Location: El Segundo, California, United States (on-site)

Salary: $130k–$210k (base salary only)

What you will do

• Develop and maintain automated test software, frameworks, and infrastructure for system, subsystem, and production test.
• Create Python-based automation for COTS instrumentation, embedded systems, and electrical STE/GSE.
• Develop and execute automated verification, validation, and acceptance test procedures.
• Integrate and troubleshoot oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, VNAs, DMMs, and related test equipment.
• Collaborate with Systems, Hardware, Software, and Production teams to define test strategies and interfaces.
• Support system integration, root cause analysis (RCCA), and deployment/sustainment of test systems in manufacturing and field environments.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant experience (or an advanced degree with 3+ years) in a related STEM field.
• Strong Python software development experience.
• Experience developing automated test systems for hardware-integrated products.
• Experience automating commercial test equipment using SCPI, Ethernet, Serial, USB, or GPIB interfaces.
• Experience with Linux-based systems and scripting (Python, Bash, MATLAB, or C++).
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
