What you will do

• Manage and mentor engineers, owning their technical growth, code quality, and delivery standards.
• Drive architecture decisions for agentic workflows, RAG pipelines, and production automation.
• Stay hands-on with complex client systems, from LLM orchestration to cloud infrastructure.
• Translate ambiguous business problems into concrete system designs and delivery plans.
• Evaluate new models and frameworks to evolve the internal production toolkit.
• Collaborate with client stakeholders to explain technical trade-offs and project progress.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years building production LLM-powered systems.
• Expert-level Python skills and strong full-stack fundamentals.
• Proven technical leadership experience with a track record of mentoring and managing engineers.
• Production cloud experience (AWS, GCP, or Azure) with a focus on monitoring and maintenance.
• Deep knowledge of the modern AI stack: prompt engineering, evaluation, embeddings, and vector search.
• Must be based in San Diego, CA and able to align with Colombia business hours.
• Fluent English with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical executives.
