TL;DR

What you will do

  • Lead and develop a payroll team responsible for bi-weekly processing for 2,000+ employees across the U.S. and Canada.
  • Ensure accurate and compliant payroll processing, including taxes, deductions, and off-cycle payments.
  • Oversee third-party payroll providers like ADP to maintain data integrity and service quality.
  • Review and approve payroll reconciliations, general ledger postings, and variance analysis.
  • Optimize payroll systems including Workday and ADP through configuration and integration improvements.
  • Drive automation and standardization initiatives to enhance payroll efficiency and internal controls.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of progressive payroll experience, including multi-state U.S. and Canadian payroll.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience managing payroll teams.
  • Strong proficiency with Workday Payroll and ADP solutions.
  • Deep knowledge of U.S. and Canadian payroll regulations and tax compliance.
  • Ability to work flexible hours during payroll cycles and critical periods.

Nice to have

  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC).
  • Experience supporting payroll transformations or system implementations.
  • Exposure to global payroll environments or shared services models.
