• Design, develop, and operate large-scale infrastructure powering Confluent Cloud.
• Build foundational software to improve reliability, scalability, and efficiency.
• Solve distributed systems challenges including consensus algorithms and failover strategies.
• Collaborate across teams to optimize infrastructure for real-time data streaming.
• Troubleshoot and enhance system observability and performance across major cloud providers.
• Contribute to open-source projects to drive business impact.

Requirements

• Must be based in Canada and eligible to work without sponsorship.
• 4+ years of relevant experience in distributed systems and cloud infrastructure.
• Proficiency in Java, Scala, C++, or Go.
• Deep understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Solid grasp of systems operations including disk, networking, and OS-level optimizations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with Kubernetes, service meshes, and cloud-native architectures.
• Contributions to open-source infrastructure projects.
• Master’s or PhD in a related field.
