TL;DR

Location: Ontario (Remote)
Salary: $100,000–$130,000 per year

What you will do
- Identify, initiate, and pursue new utility-scale solar, wind, and hydro development opportunities (greenfield and early/mid-stage acquisitions).
- Lead Indigenous partnership activities and support ongoing relationship building.
- Coordinate all development workstreams with internal specialists and outside consultants, including land acquisition, resource analysis, environmental studies, permitting, outreach, interconnection/transmission, regulatory, legal, engineering/design, and financial modeling.
- Maintain development timelines and budgets; evaluate project viability and economics and recommend outcomes to management.
- Prepare documentation for senior management approvals and report development status through written/oral updates and weekly management meetings/calls.
- Manage handover to the construction team and support engineering/construction during construction; support Finance and Legal in third-party interactions (e.g., tax equity, construction financing) and lead/assist commercial agreement negotiations.
Requirements
- 5–7 years of experience developing utility-scale wind, hydro, and/or solar projects.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or equivalent.
- Experience navigating local government processes and structures, and ability to explain technical topics clearly to stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver under tight deadlines.
- Experience developing projects within Ontario markets.
- Must be based in Ontario; role requires frequent travel within Ontario and other Canadian provinces or the United States if needed.
Nice to have
- Experience working with Indigenous groups/partners.
- Experience with partnership management and contract negotiations.
- Knowledge of key project contracts (Power Purchase Agreements, Generator Interconnection Agreements, equipment supply agreements, partnership/purchase & sale agreements, and Operations & Maintenance Agreements).
- French and English bilingualism (written and spoken).
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and GIS software.
