TL;DR

Design Engineer II (RTL/Ethernet): Developing high-speed Ethernet controller IP (MAC, PCS, FEC) operating up to 1.6 Tbps for AI infrastructure with an accent on RTL design, micro-architecture, and CDC sign-off. Focus on implementing IEEE 802.3dj and UEC specifications and collaborating across verification and back-end teams for silicon delivery.

Location: Onsite in Cork, Ireland

What you will do

  • Contribute to RTL design of blocks within high-speed Ethernet MAC, PCS, and FEC IP cores from micro-architecture through coding and CDC sign-off.
  • Implement and contribute to architecture discussions based on IEEE 802.3dj and Ultra Ethernet Consortium (UEC) specifications.
  • Collaborate with verification engineers on test plans, coverage, and feature bring-up.
  • Partner with back-end teams to manage synthesis, timing closure, and area/power trade-offs for configurable IP.
  • Participate in design and code reviews to improve overall design quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronic/Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Approximately 2+ years of industry experience in RTL design (ASIC or FPGA), or a research-based Master’s degree in digital design or networking.
  • Working knowledge of Verilog or SystemVerilog and core digital design fundamentals (FSMs, clocking, CDC, timing).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to take a design from specification to implementation.
  • Location: Must be based in Cork, Ireland

Nice to have

  • Experience with simulation and debug tools such as Xcelium, VCS, or ModelSim.
  • Exposure to Ethernet standards or high-speed networking.
  • Awareness of Forward Error Correction (FEC) or signal integrity concepts.
