Director, Business Intelligence (Legal/IP): Building and operationalizing an end-to-end intelligence, analytics, and modeling capability for Patent Licensing and IP Protection with an accent on market intelligence, economic royalty modeling, and AI-enabled decision support. Location: Must be based in or able to commute to San Francisco, CA (Hybrid: up to 4 days/week in-office)
Salary: $212,000–$292,000

What you will do
- Define and execute the data and analytics roadmap for Legal and Patent Licensing.
- Lead the aggregation and analysis of global market intelligence across audio, video, and consumer electronics ecosystems.
- Design and improve economic and royalty models to support licensing agreements and enforcement scenarios.
- Apply AI and machine learning to legal and licensing use cases such as compliance risk and workflow automation.
- Oversee data infrastructure, pipelines, and executive-ready visualization dashboards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional leadership in Finance, IP Protection, and Technology Standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Finance, or Engineering.
- Experience leading analytics or modeling functions in patent licensing, IP, or legal environments.
- Proficiency in SQL and Python for data analysis and modeling.
- Experience with Databricks and BI tools like Power BI or Tableau.
- Ability to work in a hybrid environment with frequent in-office presence.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with FRAND licensing principles and patent pool environments.
- Background in management consulting or analytics transformation.
- Experience applying predictive analytics to technology adoption scenarios.
